The red panda, known as one of the cutest animals on Earth, is designated as an endangered species by the IUCN (Glatston, 2015). This little herbivore, which lives in the Himalaya region, has a narrow ecological niche. It is mainly found between 2,400m and 3,700m, and feeds mainly on bamboo (Dorji, 2011). This mammalian's population has decreased by 50% over the last three generations. The IPCC predicts that temperatures will continue to warm, alongside increasing deforestation. As such, the Red Panda will have to adapt at a very fast rate in order to survive. Does the red panda have the capabilities to adapt or will it become extinct?
