The red panda has seen his population decrease by 50% in the last three generations, therefore it is designated as an endangered species. Many factors are threats to this mammalian such as deforestation, habitat fragmentation and degradation. These threats are increased by the growing human population, climate change and the lack of laws and regulation (Glatston, 2015). The red panda's ecological habitat is known to be narrow mainly because of its bamboo needs. This narrow distribution of panda has been known to have shifted to higher altitudes. The Red panda has been seen at over 5,000m, which could be a result of some disturbance to their lower-altitude habitat (Glatston 2015) |
